Patricia J. LaFave, Ph.D.

Dr. Patricia J. LaFave Ph. D. is a fully licensed clinical psychologist. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 1980. Dr. LaFave has over 40 years of experience treating adults, teenagers, children, and seniors providing a diversity of services. Such services include psychological testing, family/marriage counseling, and individual psychotherapy. Dr. LaFave’s specific areas of expertise include treatment of depression and anxiety disorders.

Anne L. Starr, LPC

Anne L. Starr, LPC is a fully licensed professional counselor and trained Clinical Supervisor for LLPCs working toward their full professional licensure. She received her Master of Counseling with Dual Certification in School and Agency Counseling from Spring Arbor University in 2008. Starr has over 15 years of experience treating children, teenagers, young adults and adults providing a diversity of services. Such services include both individual and family/marriage therapy. Anne Starr’s specific areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, and relationship struggles.

Megan L. Hudson, Ph.D.

Megan Hudson, Ph.D. is a fully licensed clinical psychologist with Ph.D. from George Washington University and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Hudson specializes in brief or long-term psychotherapy to adults and adolescents including individuals, couples and families.

Lorin A. Kummer, LMSW

Lorin A. Kummer has been working as an interpersonal therapist, art therapist, and teacher for over 30 years. Her experience also includes organizing and helping to create large community art projects for healing, hope, and renewal; in communities that have experienced loss and upheaval. Providing individual and family therapy to those who have suffered trauma and loss. As a teacher and therapist, she spent two decades teaching, assessing, and helping create learning and life strategies for young children, teens, and adults. She also worked with their families when they faced parenting or relational challenges. As an Art Therapist, she worked with seniors in assisted care settings to help keep the creative mind active and joyful. Her varied background enables her to work with many different issues and life challenges that are faced by folks of all ages and life experiences.

Rachel M. Vaughn-Ratliff, LMSW

Rachel M Vaughn-Ratliff is a fully licensed Master’s-Level Social Worker - Clinical and Macro in the State of Michigan. She is also a member in good standing with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. Before obtaining a Master’s degree, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. Her professional experience includes work in the areas of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, domestic relations, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress management, anxiety, and depression. As a social worker with over 25 years of experience, she has worked as a psychotherapist, program manager, mediator, and senior clinician, helping to train new therapists. As a psychotherapist, she has treated adults, children, adolescents, and seniors providing individual, couples, and family therapy.

Christopher D. Kilmer, LPC

Chris Kilmer is a fully licensed professional counselor who utilizes a person-centered approach in providing services to individuals and couples.  Chris’ area of practice includes the treatment of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship struggles and career coaching. Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Chris has served the Jackson area as a police officer and a non-profit director and has extensive experience in child welfare administration, training and policy. Chris is a licensed private pilot and in his spare time enjoys camping and restoring vintage motorcycles. 

Angel Kono, LPC

Angel Kono, LPC is a fully licensed professional counselor. She received her Master of Counseling degree from Spring Arbor University in 2009. Kono completed a second Masters in Spiritual Formation and Leadership from the same institution in 2018. She has over 10 years of experience in private counseling and treats pre-teens, adolescents and adults utilizing a diversity of services. Angel's areas of expertise are relationship struggles, marriage, life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief and loss.

Julie A. Marburger, LMSW

Julie A. Marburger, LMSW is a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Spring Arbor University in 2020. Before earning her Master’s Degree Julie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Spring Arbor University. She has experience in the mental health field treating individuals from ages 12 and up with a variety of services such as case management, crisis interventions, and individual therapy. Julie Marburger’s specific areas of expertise include depression, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. She offers a nonjudgemental approach, person-centered care, and meets clients where they are to help them achieve their goals.

Rebekah Clanton, LLPC

Becky Clanton is a limited licensed professional counselor. She obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Becky has extensive experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds to meet their personal needs. She has also worked with couples struggling with relationship challenges and life transitions. Becky offers a nonjudgmental and person-centered approach that incorporates strengths-based techniques and humor to emphasize each client's self-determination and positive qualities to reach their determined goals. Her areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, women's issues, relationship challenges, adolescence, nurturing parenting, interpersonal communication, grief and loss.

Emily Reidsma, LLPC

Emily M. Reidsma, LLPC is a limited licensed professional counselor with a BA in Elementary and Special Education and a MA in Professional Counseling and School Counseling. She received her Masters of Counseling from Spring Arbor University in 2023. Reidsma has experience in working with children, teenagers, and adults through providing various supports and services. Emily Reidsma's specific areas of expertise include treatment of anxiety, depression, life changes, trauma, and eating disorders.

Jennifer E. Darling, LPC

Jennifer Darling LPC, is a fully licensed professional counselor who received her Masters of Arts in Counseling and School Counseling from Spring Arbor University in 2020. She worked as a school counselor for three years prior to joining Patricia Lafave and Associates. Jennifer has counseling experience with adolescents, teens, adults, parents, and families working through varying mental health and life transitions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, parenting support, school-related concerns and more. While using a cognitive behavioral framework to mental health and education, Jennifer emphasizes a person-centered approach where clients feel listened to, supported and empowered to work towards their goals. Above all she values the therapeutic relationship, meeting people where they are and collaborating with them on their journey.

Andrea N. Wilcox, LMSW

Andrea N. Wilcox, LMSW is a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University in 1998. Andrea has practiced for over 25 years, supporting and assisting individuals navigate life challenges, find hope, and heal from trauma. She has provided a diversity of services in a variety of settings, providing both individual and group therapy for children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. Andrea's specific areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: severe and persistent mental illness, depression, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, life stressors and changes, trauma, and grief and loss.

Jordan Wurmlinger, LLPC

Jordan Wurmlinger, LLPC is a limited licensed professional counselor who received his Master of Arts in Counseling degree with dual certification in School Counseling and Agency Counseling. He also received his Bachelor of Arts in Education in Specific Learning Disabilities and Psychology. He has spent 8 years working in schools as a special education teacher, student intervention specialist, and currently works as a full-time school counselor. His expertise in treatment includes managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustments, parenting support, learning disabilities, and school-related concerns. He spends his day working as a middle school counselor and offers therapy in the evening. Jordan uses cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy in his work to allow sessions to be client-driven for improving their daily lives.
